About Jay

Jay Strother serves as the Senior Pastor of Brentwood Baptist. Previously, he served as the South Region Lead Campus Pastor as well as the Campus/Teaching Pastor of the Station Hill Campus. Prior, he served as Brentwood Baptist’s Next Generation Minister, developing a family-equipping model for the spiritual formation of kids, students and families.

He’s a graduate of Greenville (IL) University (B.S. in Education), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Ed.Min. in Leadership). He currently serves on SBTS faculty as an Adjunct Professor of Leadership and Discipleship.

He’s the author of Loving Well: Healthy Relationships (equippedchurch.es, 2016), a contributing author to Perspectives on Family Ministry (B&H, 2009), Trained in the Fear of God (Kregel, 2011), and several small group, video resources, and articles. He is a regular speaker at conferences and a guest lecturer at seminaries.

Jay and his wife Tanya have four are passionate about Foster and Adoption Ministry. Jay enjoys good books, long hikes, strong coffee, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
